Each of us has their preferred times to focus best on work — some prefer daylight hours, while the “night owl” type prefer late night or before dawn.
Personally, I work the most effectively when the there is some light coming through my windows. As soon as it gets dark, I start to wind down and relax. That is why I try to make the most of my daytime hours.
Another thing I do is try to eliminate all possible distractions that may occur during my focus time. For example, if I have to make some calls or a meetings, I would either plan them outside of my core hours or group them together to minimize the in/out disruption (i.e. interrupting my workflow or spending time on the road etc).
Not only do I eliminate distractions, I try to eliminate any possible interruptions that may occur. For example, I would silence my phone and have most notifications switched off, and also don’t get into casual chats with friends/family during then.
Lastly I also keep clear tasks lists for daily, ongoing and longer-terms tasks that I set out to look into each working session. This all helps to keep myu sharp and productive during a certain period of the day because it is the only time I am able to do my best.
Do you agree with me?
