Reading is quite a worthwhile activity as it helps to develop our thoughts, gives us endless knowledge and lessons while keeping our minds active — a good engagement and workout for the brain! And there’s really no excuse not do it with several formats making books more easily accessible including eBooks & audiobooks.
It is important to focus on books that are beneficial to you, books that give you points that you can implement right away to achieve improvement and personal growth. I have a few recommendations for books that I believe everybody should have in their reading especially if they have specific resolutions for the new year in various areas such as performance, health, relationships and overall hapiness. Below is a shortlist with links to my brief reviews of them:
- Range by David Epstein
- The Stress Code by Richard Sutton
- Peak Performance by Steve Magness & Brad Stulberg
- Indistractiable by Nir Eyal
- The Book of Awesome by Neil Pasricha
- Game Changers by Dave Asprey
- Contagious by Jonah Berger
- Behave by Robet Sapolsky
- The Startup J-Curve by Howard Love
- The Science of Social Intelligence by Patrick King
- Payoff by Dan Ariely
The authors of these books are entrepreneurs, psychologists, health and performance consultants, innovators and global experts in their fields. I make a habit of reading 10-20 books each year and you can see more of them on my reading list.
Please comment if you have some other interesting books to recommend!
